Update on exchanges and finishes

Look what I received on Thursday. It was my winnings from
Carol R - iStitchaholic. It is a wonderfully stitched and finished
Biscornu. I just love it. Plus she sent some linen, floss, ribbon
and fabric. I am really quite lucky to have won this.

On Friday I received my Summer House from Hazel - quietlystitching.
She stitched a design from Les Grilles de Maryse. Hazel did a great
job of stitching and finishing. She also sent some goodies: 3 skeins of
Dragon Floss, 3 skeins of DMC variegated floss, ribbon, fabric and
Jasmine fragrance beads. Plus she is sending something else
that didn't make it to her before she mailed this package.
Thanks for everything Hazel.
I finished my second wedding sampler for my daughter to
give as a gift. Got it done last night. Not a moment to soon!!!!

I received these squares from Angela last week for
Fair and Square # 8 and finished them this morning.
I really like the way they turned out.

Then last but not least I finished Joyful Summer into
a pinkeep. I think it's quiet cute !!! I should have taken
a picture of the rick rack on the side, it's very colorful.
A very festive piece. I enjoyed stitching this piece.

Hope everyone is having a great stitching weekend.

Now back to some more sewing and stitching.

Exchange received, ornament sent, and finished stitched pieces

Yesterday I received these squares from Angela
for the Fair and Square #8. She stitched Bee
Strong by Bent Creek. They are really cute and
I can't wait to get them finished off.
Thanks Angela

This is the ornament I sent to Staci for a
private ornament exchange I am in.
It's a Quaker Sampler by Milady's Needle.
Done on 40 count.

I finished stitching this wedding sampler for some
friends of my daughters. Now I have to get it totally finished
by Friday!!!!

Finally I did some stitching for me. I finished
Joyful Summer on Friday. Not sure how I am
going to finish this but I will post it again when
it is totally finished.

So there is my accomplishments from this weekend. I
did do some sewing, but I can't post those yet as they are
gifts for my upcoming retreat. More later on that.

Happy Stitching.

Finishing Frenzy Weekend

Here is the collection of finishes I did over the weekend.
Some of the stitching was done back in 2002 and 2003.
I didn't know about this type of finishing and was always
pretty much framing most of my stitching.

These three pinkeeps were from the Fair and Square
exchange. Round # 7, Summer and Patriotic exchanges.
I really like the pieces and how they turned out finished.
I even did some ruching on the peacock pinkeep.

This little baby I have had stitched since 2003!!
I can't believe that. I was going to originally make
it into a box, but decided to make a scissor pocket
out of it because I have wanted to make one and
it will serve as my Monthly Finishing Challenge.
I paired my pocket up with my Bianca scissors.

I also got my Brides Tree Ornament SAL done.
These fish came from the Mary Garry Pattern
"Fishing".

Then I had to stitch another floss tag. The elements
for this came from Joyful Summer by CCN.
I am quite happy with how it turned out.

Lastly I finished these three pinkeeps.
One of them was another 2003 project.
I really enjoy making smalls.

So another productive finishing weekend.
This week now I am going to try to just do
some stitching. I am almost done with
Joyful Summer and have started another
wedding sampler, which needs to be stitched and
finished by July 26th!!!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

Great Stitching Weekend

I started my long 4th of July weekend with a mini retreat.
Thursday three of my stitching buds, Jill, Cathy and Lori
came over. Cathy stayed for an evening of stitching, Lori
stayed over Thursday and Jill stayed until Saturday evening.
We had a great time of Stitching and food and laughs.
One of the things I stitched was this Lizzie Kate wedding
piece. This was not in my plans for the weekend. My daughter Chastity
came over and wanted me to stitch something for a wedding she
was going to on the 12th (No rush!!!). So being the great mom I am I took the
time to stitch this piece over ONE and have it finished by Sunday.
I really like how it turned out, it is very cute.

I also finished an ornament, but it is for an exchange so I
will have to post it later. I worked on a few exchange pieces.
I also worked on Joyful summer, which has been quite fun to
stitch.

On Saturday the mailman brought me a couple of things.
First this Ackworth School pattern book that my wonderful
DH won on Ebay for me.

Then I received my summer fob from a small exchange
I was in from Shelly. She did a great job. Its a really cute fob.
And she sent some wonderful goodies: 32 count Morning Dream
linen from Dyeing4U, 2 skeins of waterlillies and 2 skeins of
DMC floss.

I also received the LHN RR that I am participating in.

Then to top off the weekend my daughter Chaz and her fiance
Ben took me to my LNS. Didn't really NEED to go there but
it was great to go and look around. Oh, I did buy a few things!!!

Here is one more thing I stitched and finished this weekend.
It's the Quaker Flowers Strawberry Emery from the
Gift of Stitching. I am quite pleased by how it turned out.

Well that pretty much sums up my great stitching weekend.
Can't wait until we get together for our August retreat.

Keep Stitching!!!

An Exchange and Ornament

This was a replacement package for Fair and Square
exchanges that Vonna didn't receive.

This week Jill and I put together an exchange package
for Vonna. Jill Stitched the squares and I put together
most of the goodies. I made the project bag, pincushion
chicken, thread drops, and the thread holder, with the
Twisted Stitcher on it, my daughter-in-law painted the
magnets and needle case. Jill made the thread counter
and provided the tins. We had a good time putting this
together for Vonna.

Here's the ornament I made for the Bride's Tree
SAL Ornament. I really like the three sided idea.
This pattern came from the 2007 Just Cross Stitch
Ornament Magazine. It was stitched on 28 count fabric
with DMC floss.

Now I am living for the next few days. Jill and I are going
to have a mini stitching retreat from Thursday-Saturday.
I love 3 day holiday weekends!!!
Have a happy and safe 4th.
