Fair and Square

Today I received my first Fair and Square.

I just love it, and can't wait to finish it off into
something cute.

I really enjoyed this exchange and now I also
have a friend in The Netherlands.

Thanks again Willeke.

Here is what I received:

Just an update

I have been busy this week getting into trouble by signing up for exchanges.

It has become addictive. Looking at blogs, exchanges and BB's.

I have been accepted to two BB's, the Legacy Embroiderers Guild and
the Stitching Bloggers Exchange.

I am excited about both. I just finished round 4 of the Fair and Square and
I am anxiously awaiting my square from the Netherlands. I am signed up
for round 5 and have my daughter for my new partner. I am just getting
ready to mail out the fob I stitched for the Hooked on Exchanging Fob exchange. I have really had fun doing these exchanges.

Now I have signed up for a LHN RR. I have always wanted to do a RR.

Plus I am doing the Spring Home and Garden exchange and the Bride's
Tree ornament SAL.

I think that will keep me busy for awhile. I also have all those other
projects I'd like to do for me and others.

I am looking forward to getting some of that stitching done this weekend, when myself and a couple other of my stitching cronies have a mini stitching retreat at my house.

It will be a great weekend.

Keep stitching!!

Time for a post!!!!

I have been meaning to post since the first of the year but have been busy with family.

We were on a family cruise and sailed out of Miami. So while in Miami I checked out a shop,
The Cross Stitch Station--www.MiamiCrossStitch.com. Here are my purchases: A Hand Painted Needle Case, A Samuel Burch Pouch, I Love Carbs pattern by Needle and Fred,
French Monogram Collection III by Twisted Oaks Designs, Little Brown House and Blackbird Sampler by Heart in Hand.

But I did want to post my first finished project. I started a new project on January 1st,
and even finished the stitching that same day. I was a small project: Carriage House Samplings-- X-Stitch. I have a box that I am going to put it in. Hopefully I will get that done sometime today and post the end result.

I also finished a UFO for my daughter Kelsey. It's a La D Da--Bless This House. I have stitched this pattern 4 times for gifts. I really like this design.

Now that life has somewhat settled down I hope to be posting more.

Keep Stitching!!!

MERRY (scissors) CHRISTMAS

I hope everyone is having a great Christmas morning. I just needed to post what "Santa" brought me last night.

As you can tell by my blogging I have a scissor fetish. I have been lusting over the Gingher Gloriana scissor for sometime now. I have not been able to bring myself to pay the high price for them on Ebay. Well my wonderful husband who is quite the Ebay fanatic went through all the trouble to create a new user name (Scissorsnut) so that he could bid on the gloriana's to give me for Christmas. He always humors me and my addictions. I love him for that!!!

So here is my newest acquisition:

Also stitched a couple of new fobs. The first one is for my daughter who is in the Marines and just got back to the states now for good from Okinawa, and has taken up her mom's habit of stitching. So she just received her first pair of gingher scissors from me and, of course I had to make a fob for it. Now she can start her own collection of scissors and fobs. I always like to pull another person over to the "dark side" of the addiction of collecting. I stitched the fob from the Prairie Schooler book "The Garden Alphabet" Kelsey Dunlevy.

Here is the new Prairie Schooler "freebie" snowman I stitched and made into a fob.

Now I am going to get ready to have my children over for Christmas dinner, and maybe get in a little stitching.

Have a great Christmas day and keep stitching.

Life is good!!!

Chicken Pin Cushion

Here is my latest finished project.

It's a Twisted Oaks Design called Coq Au Pins - A Collection of Stitching Smalls.

I will also be doing the Needle Nanny, Scissors Pocket and of course the Fob.

I have a couple more finished projects,
but I seem to be having
trouble loading multiple pictures.

I guess I need more computer knowledge.

Until next time, keep stitching.

Grandson's Christmas Ornament

I stitched this ornament for my youngest son, 19 years ago. I really liked the pattern and now I have stitched it for my grandson's first Christmas.

I finished the stitching a couple days ago and did the rest of the finishing today.

I have had a pretty productive finishing weekend.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Keep Stitching.

A fine day to do some finishing

Well the weather here in Minnesota is snowing and blowing, so it is a good day to stay in and get some finishing done.

My major project of late has been a Christmas stocking for my grandson. I finally finished stitching it last night and today I made it into a stocking.

I am quite excited about that. I have not been able to stitch any "smalls" or finish off some of the smalls I have stitched. I plan on doing some of that tonight and this week.

Here is a picture of the finished stocking.

I also wanted to make an origami ort bag, here is the result of that.

Now I am going to enjoy sitting in front of the fire and stitch and watch a movie. Who cares how cold it is outside!!

Until next time, keep stitching.
