Exchanges, an Ornament finish and a Wedding Sampler

First a exchange received from Rachel for Fair and Square round 9. She stitched Pumpkin House by Sampler Girl. These squares are stitched wonderfully and I really like the name square. I am anxious to finish these. Thank you Rachel. It was a great exchange.

This was the exchange I sent to Staci for the Prairie Schooler exchange. You can't tell here but this is a big clothes pin. I didn't take a side picture of it but you can see what it looks like on Staci's blog. I think I bought this clothes pin at Craft's Direct in St. Cloud, MN. I bought two of them and thought someday I would find a use for them. The pattern was a freebie bookmark from a long time ago. I stitched the piece on 40 count over two. I was quite pleased with how it turned out. It can be used as a pattern holder too!! I had a comment on my blog about the size of the clothes pin and where I got it. It's 6 inches high and an inch and three-eighths wide. I believe it was Barbie who asked and I would have emailed you but there was not an address to go to. So I hope this helps.
Here is the pillow I stitched and sewed for the Think Pink exchange. I sent this one to Goldie. The pattern was from Hands to Work--The Littles.
This ornament is from the new Just Cross Stitch Ornament Magazine. It's a Charland Design--Santa Topper. I found the snowflake at Michael's and painted it and did my finishing. The ornament on the left of course is the before, I am so happy with the way it turned out. Sometimes things work out the way I see them in my head. This was one of those projects. Then last but not least. Here is the long over due Wedding Sampler for my son and his wife. I had the sampler done before the wedding and was going to frame it myself. Well long story short I finally just took it into Michael's when they were having a 60% off sale and had them frame it. I also have another wedding sampler for my daughter that they will be framing as soon as I get the wording finished on it. So hopefully in the next couple of weeks you will be seeing that one posted. And then I have one more wedding sampler to get done by next August and a baby sampler to finish by January. I have a lot to get done!!!!

Thank for stopping by and I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Now back to stitching and finishing for me.

Another Great Exchange

Today after a quick trip to the LNS with Cathy B, I found this great exchange in my mailbox from Paula C from the Prairie Schooler exchange on the HoE. She stitched this freebie called Stick it Here by Prairie Schooler. It is so cute and stitched and finished wonderfully.
Also included in the package were these goodies: a wooden acorn floss holder, a skein of Sampler Thread called acorn, a piece of fabric for finishing, a small titanium scissors--one of my fetishes, and some lotion and shower gel from Bath and Body Works. What a great exchange. Thank you Paula!!

Had a great night stitching with Jill and Cathy. Still working on exchanges it seems:)
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Also thanks to those of you who have wished our son Tristan, well while he is in Africa serving in the Marines. So far he is doing well. He tells us it is very hot there--110 degrees during the day, and humid and it is winter over there! He has been able to call almost everyday. I am sure that will change once they are all settled and doing their jobs over there.

A Gift received and exchanges sent

Today I received this lovely redwork pin pillow from Becky SC. She did a wonderful job of stitching and finishing this pin pillow. I just love it. Thank you Becky.

I heard today that Vonna received this Ribbon Candy Ornament for a private Christmas ornament exchange. I have been wanting to make one of these and Vonna was the prefect reason.
This is a needle roll I stitched for Nic for an exchange. This pattern is from Lavender Wings. Another project I have wanted to stitch and finally did.

So much of my stitching has been for exchanges so I have not been able to post many pictures since I am waiting for them to reach their new owners.

Time for a quick update

I received this lovely Needle Roll from Aniza the other day and I have been so busy I am just getting around to posting it. Aniza so sent me some fibers with this exchange. Thank you Aniza, so much for this exchange.

I have not been able to stitch to much recently as I have been busy with trying to spend sometime with our youngest son. He is in the Marine Corps Reserves and he is being deployed to Djibouti, Africa, so he was home for 10 days. We put him on the plane yesterday for Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Word today is they we be leaving tomorrow for Africa. So while he was home we did some family things. After taking our son to the airport my DH took me to me LNS, and to Joann's and Michaels and then we topped off the evening with dinner at Texas Roadhouse. That place is one of my favorite places to eat and it is way on the other side of the cities, so we don't get to go there much. So we had a great evening out.

Now I have this next week off from work and hopefully I will be getting a lot done at home and with my stitching. I have been mostly stitching on exchanges when I do stitch and now I have some finishing to do.

I hope all is well with everyone and you are having a great weekend.

Happy Stitching!

Exchanges received

It's been almost two weeks since my last post. I have been stitching and finishing quite a bit but it has mostly been for exchanges. I do have some exchanges that I sent that I can post now, but I will do that in a separate post. These are the exchanges I have received this week:

I received my Shepherd's Bush exchange from Carolyn on Friday. She stitched up a great design and made it into a cube. It is sooo cute. I just love it.

Carolyn also sent these goodies. A Shepherd's Bush pattern--Summer is Waving, 2 pieces of Jobelan, a tape measure-which I have a fetish for, needles another fetish, marking pins, an assortment of fibers and a note pad. Thank you so much for the wonderful exchange Carolyn.

On Saturday I received my Fair and Square Halloween round squares from Margit in Germany.
These are the cutest squares. I am trying to decide how I am going to finish them.
Margit also sent me two French magazines and a German pattern book because we had decided privately to exchange some goodies.

Then this picture is to show you that Captain Underpants is always underfoot when I try to take pictures. He will always just come and get into the picture!! I have to push him away to get anything done. He does the same thing when I am sewing, makes himself at home right in the middle of everything.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.
