Today Jill and I decided to try our hand at dying
some fabric. Here are the results:
The fabric to the left was done with two different
dyes. We tried the same colors Vonna used which
were tan and cocoa brown. We soaked the fabric in
the tan for one minute and then we twisted and
dunked. I really liked the outcome. Then we did just
purple, which was left in the water for 30 seconds.
Then final combination was tan and golden yellow
together. The darker yellow fabric was left in the
water for 3 minutes, lighter one was left in water
for one minute.
Now was also dyed at least 4 pieces of fabric per dye
batch. So the first fabric in, does not need as much
time as subsequent fabrics.
Our mixture of dye was 2 quarts of water - to 1/4
teaspoon of dye for one color dying. For two colors
it was 2 quarts of water - to 1/8 teaspoon of each color
of dye. We used the stove top method. Bringing the
water to a slow simmer and keeping it at a simmer
throughout the dying process.
Not to bad for the first time around. Not to hard to do
once you get the hang of it. I will be doing more dying
for sure. Just need to invest in alot of white linen!!!!
We dyed fabric counts from 25 to 36.

Two Exchanges this week!
This week I received the following exchanges:
This is the HOE scissor fob that I have been waiting for.
The first one was lost in the mail and Janaina had to stitch
another one. Plus it had to travel here from Brazil. But it
made it here safely and I am very happy with the fob and
all the goodies.
Thank you again Janaina.
Then I received my Feathered Friends exchange from the
SBEBB.
This exchange came from Simone from the Netherlands.
She stitched a design from Homespun Elegance. Also included
was a piece of fabric and matching floss, and some finishing trims.
plus two birdies. Another great exchange.
I have to say I have really been enjoying all the exchanges. I enjoy
making and sending as much as receiving.
Well I am off to try to get some finishing done for some more
exchanges.
I hope all have a great Memorial Day weekend. Please take time to
remember all those who have and are serving our country.
Keep Stitching

Spring House Exchange from Maria
I received this wonderful Spring House exchange this week.
It's a finished tin, with a fob and thread counter. I was very excited to
receive this exchange. Maria also sent some ribbon and DMC variations
thread in my favorite color.
The package did not make it here in one piece. Somehow it was destroyed
in the mail, and came in a priority box from the Mail Recovery Center.
I am just thankful it arrived in one piece.
Thanks so much Maria.

This and That
I received my Fair and Square round 6 squares on Saturday from Nicky.
They are very cute, I really like the design. She sent some fabric, rick rack,
buttons and a note pad. I think the fabric matches the squares very well and
I will use it when I finish the squares.
Thank you Nicky.
Then I finished the RR I was working on for the LHN RR exchange
I am in. I just finished Julianne's, and here is how it is shaping up:
Then I had a 50% off coupon burning a hole in my pocket
so I had to buy this: I'll have to have the girls over for a hot
game!!!!
I was out of town with my hubby for our 30th anniversary last week.
It was a surprise trip. Our children bought us tickets to see Cher on
opening night in Las Vegas, plus got us two nights stay at The Venetian
in a suite!!! We had a great time. Plus my hubby took me to San Diego
for two days. It was a great 30th anniversary.
Keep Stitching.
