I Have been busy....

I have been stitching and finishing since my last post.
I should have done some posting but I have just been to busy.
First up is my Ladies Prim Society kit I received a week or so ago.

Threadwork Primitives--Holiday Patchwork kit.
Stitched on 32 count R & R Winter Brew linen with overdyes provided in the kit.
I finished it a bit different from the kit.  They used another piece of linen for the back
of the bag.  I decided to line it and used fabric for the back.  I backed it with the fabric that
the bag is laying on.
Started 12-4-2013
Finished 12-8-2013

Here it is hanging on the back of the door.
I will have to say I like the way it turned out.

This is a new Homespun Elegance design--Your State Holiday Home.
I stitched this on 32 count Willow Green and used DMC threads.
Started 11-25-2013
Finished 11-27-2013

Here is a Foxwood Crossing sled I stitched awhile back for our Christmas tree this year.

I stitched these Foxwood Crossing sleds for our grandkids.
The top three are for our grandsons and the bottom two for our
granddaughters.

Then I have done some sewing too.  My son-in-law made this bed for the oldest granddaughter's
new doll.
So I made the mattress and a sheet for it.  I think it turned out pretty good.

Of course then I needed to make a blanket for the bed.
Next up is a quilt.
I have a lot to get done before Christmas!!!!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

Fun Mail and some stitching

Today after I got home from a trip to my LNS I found the latest project from the Seasons of Chessie club.

 Winter Wonder.

Here is the whole kit including the hornbook.  Another fun project.

I stitched up these ornies from Foxwood Crossings for my Grandchildren.
Since I now have five grandchildren I stitched up another one of each design.  I will be posting these again once they are mounted on the sleds.

I stitched this ornie from the JSC 2013 Ornament magazine and finished it yesterday.
Val's Stuff--Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas ornament.
Stitched on 32 count coffee dyed fabric with DMC threads.
Started 11-16-13
Finished 11-17-13

Well that's it for now.
Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Garden

Just finished Christmas Garden last night.  I haven't decided yet about putting initials in the piece as I am not sure if I want to put my initials in with my maternal family initials or my initials with my four daughters initials.  But the piece is stitched.  Another BIG WIP done.

Blackbird Designs--Christmas Garden.
Stitched on 32 count cream with DMC threads.
Finished 11-15-2013.

Now I think I will stitch a couple of small things and decide which BIG WIP I will finish next.
Have a great weekend.

Introducing Sharon....

So I went to Joann's today armed with four 60% off coupons.  I was wondering around just looking for something I might "NEED" and I saw to my amazement a couple of 8" Gingher--Sharon scissors.
I began to panic as I wanted a 4" scissors so, I lifted up the 8" box and there was ONE 4" scissors.
I grabbed it and proceed to the checkout with my treasure.
I didn't know that there was even a new Gingher scissors coming out--Bonus I guess.
So here it is:  Sharon.

This was my purchase at Joann's today and the total for these items was $23 and some change!!! Less than the regular cost of the scissors which was $39.99.
Happy Times:)

I stitched up this ornie from this years JCS Ornament magazine.
It is from Plum Street Samplers called Christmas Stocking.
I am going to try to finish it into stocking form today hopefully.

*Edited*  Just finished my Christmas Stocking.
Plum Street Samplers from 2013 JCS Ornament Magazine.
I stitched this piece on 32 count instead of 36 count as called for.
Not sure of the color but it is a grey color.  I also changed the house color
from Cherry Bark to Mulberry.
Started and Finished 11-09-2013.
This is my progress on Christmas Garden.  I am staying on task for the most part except for the small ornie I stitched up in the previous picture.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Seasons of Chessie--Harvest Time

I have been busy the last couple of days so get comfortable because this is going to be a long post.

First of I started and finished my Seasons of Chessie Kit that I received awhile back.

This is a club I joined from The Old Mill Stitchery
 shop in Missouri.

Seasons of Chessie by Chessie and Me--Harvest Time.
Stitched on 32 count vintage sand dune with overdyed threads
provided in the kit.  Mounted on wool felt and a hornbook.
Started 10-23-2013
Finished 10-30-2013
Here is Harvest Time and Liberty Inn.  These are the first two kits I have received from
the Seasons of Chessie Club.
Next up are the two birth samplers that I have had stitched for a bit.  These two samplers are for
our two newest grandchildren who were born last year.  Everleigh Joan was born October 29, 2012
and her cousin Charles David was born exactly a month later on November 29, 2012.
This sampler is from The Drawn Thread.  I like this sampler as it is a nice heirloom design.
Here is a close up of Everleigh's.

 And here is Charlie's.

So of course I had to stitch them each a Christmas Stocking.
Both of these stockings are from Bent Creek.

This is the fabric I used for the back of each.

This is just a picture of the hangers I use for the stockings.
They are for curtains.  I think they work pretty good for the stockings.

I found this Blackbird designs freebie all ready to be finished while I was looking for another project.
I had it all sewed together.  It just need to be stuffed.  So I did that real quick.

Now that I am trying to get some WIP's finished I pulled out this Blackbird Designs project--Christmas Garden.  I am going to try to stay on task and finish this before I start another one BUT
no promises!!!

My Prim Sisters Club kit arrived today.  A Pocket for Potions by La D Da.
One of the many reasons why there will be no promises on staying on task
with my Christmas Garden!!!

Thanks again for stopping by and Happy Stitching.

Oh and Happy Halloween:)

Weekend sewing and Quilt shop stop...

Did a little sewing this weekend.  Our number two granddaughter--Everleigh Joan, my namesake:) turns one tomorrow and her birthday party was yesterday so I finished up her quilt and made a matching small pillow and a standard size pillowcase.

Here is the result.  I have been making a baby quilt for each one of the grandchildren when they arrive.  And then once they are here I make another one which is a bit bigger and then I try to pick fabric which they can grow into.  Not so much a "baby quilt" but a toddler/young child quilt.

I also made Evi some pj's.  I made tons of clothes for my own children when they were young, and it has been awhile since I have made any clothes.  So it was fun to make these.
I made a trip to a quilt shop today as I needed some fabric to finish my Mrs. Waddelow's Huswife and some lining fabric for two Christmas Stockings. The blue and red fabric in the back is for the stockings.   This is what I bought. I also found some really cute ribbon and a scissors
This scissors was at the checkout and I thought I just have to have them.  They are Sullivan's Petites Embroidery Scissors.  They were just to darn cute to pass up.

So there you have it.  I am a little busy this week but I hope to get some more finishing done and
of course some evening stitching.

Have a great week and Happy Stitching:)

Patches of Life Framed and a fob....

Here it is framed--Patches of Life.

Finished up my framing today.  I ordered this frame from Joann's with a 60% plus $10 off coupon.
Gotta love those coupons!!!!
Again I am very happy with the results.

Then last June our oldest daughter was in Utah and stopped at Shepherd's Bush and picked up the 2013 scissors fob so I decided I needed to get it stitched since I had the Gingher designer scissor--Emily which goes with this fob.
View of the front.

Here is what the back looks like.  I also added he name of the scissors to the back of the fob.
Shepherd's Bush 2013 fob kit.
Stitched on 30 count rose linen with overdyed threads.
Started and Finished 10-23-2013.

That's it for now.
Have a great weekend.

Patches of Life

Doing another happy dance.  Finished a WIP called Patches of life today.
Waiting for the frame now.  Should be here today or Thursday.
I will have another update when it's framed.

Patches of Life Sampler by L'Atelier Perdu.
Stitched on 40 count lambswool with DMC.
Finished 10-22-2013

On Sunday my daughter and daughter-in-law took me to the LNS and treated me
to some new Stash.  They wanted to do something nice for me for watching
the grandkids.  It's nice to be appreciated:)

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Holy Moses--Part Two!!!

Just an update on Holy Moses. Went to Joann's last week and ordered this frame.
I decided to save $30 and do the framing myself.  I thought it might be quite a feat
to accomplish but it was not so bad and I just love it.

So here it is.  Holy Moses all done:)
This just may have to be entered in the State Fair next year!!!

Here is an update on my WIP.  So far I have stayed on task. I am really enjoying
this stitch.  Should be done in no time if all goes as planned.
Sorry for all the wrinkles.

Have a great rest of the week.
Thanks for stopping by.
