First finished stitches of 2012

I am getting ready for a four day retreat but I did want to post a couple of things.

First I did manage to get my first finished stitch done for 2012. I decided to stitch LHN's Poinsettia house because I have been stalking the 2012 Year of Smalls and they decided
this would be their first "small" stitch. I am not sure I want to join the group but as long as
I had the pattern I thought I would stitch it. So it's finished and have a frame for it so hopefully
I will get it framed sometime next week.

Next I stitched a model for The Country Sampler in Spring Green, Wisconsin. This is called "A Stitcher's Purse" by With Thy Needle and Thread. I stitched the needlebook and purse designs.

Here is my BBD sampler that I finished last month. Went through my framing stash and found the perfect frame.
I think the frame was under $4. I just love a bargain.

Well folks that's all for now. I will report back next week after I return from my retreat.

Happy Stitching:)

First post of the year....

...by my lovely daughter, Kelsey Ann. ;) I bugged Mama Joan for a couple days straight so she would make this awesome Kindle cover for me. I found the fabric at JoAnn's and it was 30% off. She followed this tutorial and added a pocket, per my request. My momma is AWESOME! Special thanks to A Blue Sky Kind of Life blog!

Now Mama Joan is slaving away at the sewing machine for her friend, Lori, making a few cute Zippy Strippy bags. Here's a picture of one of them. I love that my momma is so dang crafty!
